has examples of ways parents can volunteer at meets.
REFUNDS:
All money will be returned if you child does not make the team.
Because we must contract for personnel and pool time in advance,
if a swimmer decides not to participate after registering, we must limit the
refunds as follows:

the second week of practice;
50% refund up to
date of the first meet;
No refund after
first meet.
Parent’s
Guidelines
The most important
thing you can do is to support your child.
Encourage them to do their best-both at practice and during the
meets.
Try to attend meets - cheer for them and the team.
Encourage your child to cheer for their teammates, and thank the
swimmers on the opposing team for a good meet.
Volunteer to participate in the meets. This not only helps
the meet run smoother for your child, but it also demonstrates that you
consider their efforts important. Contact any Board Member on how to
volunteer.
General Safety Rules
Boys and girls should not go escorted or unescorted into
each others’ locker rooms. The visiting team locker rooms are made
available for parents who need to assist their young children with changing or
showering. The high school life guards can direct you to these locker
rooms.
Children should not be dropped off more than 15 minutes before
practice, and parents should make sure that there is a coach present before
leaving their child.
Children should be picked up immediately at the conclusion of
practice.
If a child is to leave practice early, the coach must be
notified BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN in person or in writing.
Please monitor any children in the High School balcony. The
edges of this balcony ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS for small, unattended children!
Food is not permitted on the pool deck, including during meets.
The Abington Dolphins reserve the right to limit the total number
of swimmers and divers in order to provide a safe environment and an ideal
member-to-coach ratio. The Dolphins
reserve the right to perform team "cuts" prior to the start of the
competitive season and to move swimmers between the color groups based upon the
coaching staff's evaluation of each swimmer’s ability. A full refund will be
issued if an individual is cut from the program.
Practices
Swimmers are not to be dropped off more than 15 minutes before
practice -THIS IS FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY.
Parents are not permitted on deck during practice or a meet
(unless you are a volunteer). The high school balcony is open for those
who stay during practice. If you have a
question for a coach, ask to speak with them after practice.
Swimmers must be picked up immediately at the conclusion of
practice - AGAIN; THIS IS FOR THEIR OWN
SAFETY.
Meets
League Meets: ABAC competes as a team for Divisional and
League Championships.
Mini Meets: Competition specifically designed for younger less
experienced swimmers.
Invitational Meets: League-sanctioned individual meets for
those desiring extra competition during the season.
For last minute illnesses and emergencies, TELEPHONE your child's
HEAD COACH (see contacts on this website).
The coaches ultimately decide which children swim which
events. Please understand that it is impossible for the children to
choose their individual events.
